Montages and Collages

A collage sis a piece of art made up of smaller images. A photo montage is the method of choosing, editing and piecing together smaller images and pieces of art. The main characteristics of a collages is rugged looking around the edges and in-between the pieces of art.

Geoges Braque was the first person to start making collages. He worked alongside Picasso who also started creating collages.

For our task we were asked to create some collages on a mobile app called Picsart. I wasn't a big fan of the app but i managed doing the collages fine.

I liked doing this style because it allowed me to get creative with pictures i had already taken myself. I would do this again but in my own time more as a hobby so i can take my time with them. i think this style would be good for putting in an art book maybe like a portfolio.

My collages

I really enjoyed this task as it encouraged me to take pictures of stuff I wouldn't normally. I would defiantly try this style of photography again because it gave me a chance to get creative with editing them to make them look completely different from the original. I think a good use of this style of photography would be for wall art. I think it would look good in work spaces and offices as such.

All of these collages are made from newspapers and magazines so materials were easy to find.
