Artist Research: Pogus Caesar and Joel Meyerowitz

Pogus: Pogus Caesar is a British conceptual artist from St Kitts. he makes use of multiple types of media for his work. His first career was being a pointillist painter but he later moved on to taking pictures of varying communities. he has recorded historical moments and people who have made an impact on history. Pogus's pictures have been considered to have made an impact on the black community and history. his work have been featured in places such as National Portrait Gallery, Victoria and Albert Museum, Mappin Art Gallery, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery


Joel: Joel is an American landscape, portrait and street photographer. he was one of the first people to start photographing in colour in 1962 but it was met with disapproval because it wasn't considered serious art. he decided he would permanently stay taking pictures in colour. Joel used to be an art director but he quit. He started teaching at the Cooper Union University in New York. His works are exhibited in such places as the International Centre of Photography, Museum of Modern art and the New York Public Library all of which are based in New York City and the Museum of Contemporary art which is based in Chicago, Illinois.
